SCOPE: Redevelopment of an existing 2 storey brick retail block, incorporating new additions with precast concrete wall panels and structural steel support frames.  Design included seismic upgrade of the existing brick building.
ROLE: Structural design and site observation.

SEWAGE STORAGE TANK - OREWA

SCOPE: Design of a new 3000m3 underground sewage storage tank, utilising cast-insitu reinforced concrete base and walls, with precast concrete roof slab.  The design incorporated flushing gates for self cleaning of the tank.
ROLE: Structural design and site observation.

BURGER KING RESTAURANTS – NEW ZEALAND

TASMAN PACIFIC FOODS LTD / HARDIE BONDOR BUILDING SYSTEMS

Retail

SCOPE : 80 - 150 seat restaurants constructed with 1950’s style decor from color-steel sandwich panel including site works, car parks and access ramps.
ROLE : Prime Consultant responsible for architectural, structural, and electrical design.

WAREHOUSE DEVELOPMENT- MANGERE

SYNERGY PROPERTIES LTD

Industrial

SCOPE: A 2500m2 warehouse development, with 275m2 office facilities. A 37m span high bay steel portal frame structure, with precast concrete cladding and a single storey commercial office building with precast concrete walls.
ROLE: Structural design and site observation. 

EXMOUTH ST - AUCKLAND

SCOPE : Addition of 1st floor office to an existing retail block.  Steel frame with weathering steel cladding.

REDEVELOPMENT OF RENDELLS - AUCKLAND

SCOPE: Retrofit of Rendell’s department store into fitness centre, food court, retail shopping complex and a backpackers lodge in a four storey existing brick building.
ROLE: Architectural and structural design including seismic upgrades and structural observation.

BERESFORD ST DEVELOPMENT - AUCKLAND

SCOPE : A six storey office and car park building in Beresford St. The basement car park was constructed using perimeter caisson pile retaining walls and the superstructure was steel framed with concrete floor and precast wall panels. Worked with Martin Hughes Architectural Interiors Ltd
ROLE : Structural design and architectural detailing for tender, Building Consent and construction. Site observation.

BOAT MAINTENANCE BUILDING - AUCKLAND

SCOPE: Stage 2 development of a boat maintenance building comprising a high bay steel portal frame structure, with precast concrete cladding and a two storey commercial office / workshop building with precast concrete floors and walls.

ROLE: Structural design and site observation.

TE RAPA CO-GENERATION POWER STATION – TE RAPA

ALSTOM NEW ZEALAND LTD / HAWKINS CONSTRUCTION LIMITED

Industrial

SCOPE : A 40 MW gas fired power plant and steam boiler supported on large raft and piled foundations. A 581 m² control building including site civil works, electrical and mechanical services and a fire protection system.
ROLE : Design and supervision of foundations, control room, civil works, electrical services, mechanical services and fire protection.

SCOPE : A ten storey steel frame apartment building added to an existing four storey reinforced concrete building.  Utilising eccentrically braced structural steel frames and speedfloor flooring system.

MOTORWAY INTERCHANGE - MERCER

McCONNELL DOWELL CONSTRUCTION LTD

SCOPE: Infrastructure works associated with a new motorway interchange at Mercer, including a new off-ramp bridge constructed from weathering steel support beams, a cast-insitu reinforced concrete road over rail box culvert and cast-insitu reinforced concrete cantilever retaining walls.
